The Vivisect Playset series of 3" vinyl figures.
Thomas Han is another well-known 2D artist who made the jump quite successfully into designer toys. His signature bold pastel colors and psychedelic swirling artwork combine in an unsettling, yet oddly appealing manner with drug references and sadomasochistic subject matter. Cartoon bunnies doing lines? Yup.
Han’s most notable line of original sculpts are the Pusher series, 6” vinyl toys made by Munky King. He also contributed a figure to the Vivisect Playset series by Strangeco, as well as designed the paint on some pretty darn cool 3” and 8” Dunnys by Kidrobot.
STRANGEco presents a brand new multi-artist mini figure series, based on an annual art show hosted by Gallery 1988 and curated by Luke Chueh!
The Vivisect Playset thematically focuses on the dissection and reconstruction of animals to demonstrate human emotion, and 7 artists that particpate regularly in the annual show have devised an incredible range of original character designs. The series features designs by Anthony Ausgang, Luke Chueh, Thomas Han, Peter Gronquist, Joe Ledbetter, Greg Simkins, Amanda Visell - plus a special collaborative design by Joe Ledbetter and Greg Simkins.
