Touma
Touma is a prolific Japanese artist whose signature style is both cartoonish and jaunty. He is a veritable tidal wave of original characters which take shape first as sketches and then are translated into 3D toys. Many of these designs are produced by the Wonderwall company.
Touma worked in the video game industry for approximately a decade before striking out on his own to become a freelance figure artist. He established his global reputation with the release of his character Knuckle Bear in 2003, followed by many others, including Hellhound.
In person, Touma is quiet and unassuming, a direct contrast to the creativity which boils inside him. Often, during lulls in the signings at his US appearances, he can be seen doodling his characters on any available surface. It's evident that his designs need to pour out of his pen, as if building up by the second inside his head.
