Nathaniel was found in the steamy, distant port of Manchin. Abandoned there by his previous crew for his drinking and fierce temper, when invited aboard the The Whispering Corsair, he accepted without hesitation. He quickly rose through the ranks to become first officer, though only to control the grog rations.
