Tenacious Ninja - A Blog About Art Toys / resin
Countdown to Designer Con 2018! With less than a few weeks to go, DKE is starting to roll out there releases. First up is Colonel Sandroid by Nekosatsu Toys. These 3.75" carded figures are each hand cast and painted, while also being limited to only 22 pieces. Priced at $45 a piece, this would probably go good with some fried chicken. DKE Toys will be located at Booth #2523.
Instagram: @nekosatsuAs always, here's a little note from DKE Toys:
This item is up for Pre-Order in the FU-Stamps shop, and ships in the middle of November 2018.
This highly detailed figure showcases the FU-Crew’s wise leader in this dynamic pose! Display Bodega Blade with his sword in his hand or keep his weapon stored in his parka!
Bodega Blade is the tactful leader of the FU-Crew, a gang of teens obsessed with martial arts, and cleaning up the streets from punk-ass-scum!
Figure stands 7 inches tall, hand painted and casted in resin.
Original Bodega Blade (“ Beef+Broccoli “) figure is limited to only 100 pieces at $120 each.
Designed by Rios Palante

Piyotycho is a Japanese-based Illustrator I've followed on Instagram for a number of years, and the creator & author of original comic projects. A couple of my favourite recurring characters are "Hornpot" (pictured above) and "Clawia" (below).
They're fun characters, and appear often on Piyotycho's feed, bursting with personality (among other personal assets). So, I was thrilled to see resin figure adaptations previewed for both these monster-babes.
It's a lot of fun to see a character who appears exclusively in 2D media make the transition to 3D. And, on seeing these were garage kits (kind of a do-it-yourself resin toy assembly style, not uncommon in Japan), my first question was quite literally, how can I buy and paint this? The answer took a little digging. Sculptor @kuroganeT2 is responsible for the fun translation of characters to paintable resin kits, and has recently debuted them at 2 Japan-only exhibition events, Comike 94 and Osaka's GWC.
Updates on sales events are being posted to KuroganeT2's blog here, so I suppose for those of you like me who can't pop over to Japan for a quick shopping trip, we may be calling in a friend favour to acquire these awesome kits! You can find more of Piyotycho's art updates on Instagram @Piyotycho
Available now, with pieces selling out fast, is Sucklord's latest addition to the Suckadelic Pharmacy. Each 3 and 3/4 inch bootleg figure comes in a blistered card back, mounted to a fancy looking frame. Each piece is also signed by the one and only Sucklord. Priced at $175 a piece, each version is colored to represent one of many well known pharmaceutical device. Check out all the pieces on the Supersuckstore now.
I realize that this may be an extremely frustrating blog post for many of you, but I had to share this wonderful blue GID Tuttz Fairy Cat figure that we just received from Argonaut Resins. Eric is fantastically talented at the design and production of his original resin characters. They are so SO CLEAN and perfect.
Eric tends to release his figures, like this third wave of his Fairy Cats, pretty randomly. Once released, you can pick up his resins in his shop here, but to keep on top of his future releases, your best bet is to follow his blog here. Basically, he will randomly update his blog and let everyone know what's about to drop in the shop.
You will never be disappointed with the quality. In fact, the quality of the Argonaut resin figures may make you second guess the other resin figures in your collection... they're that good. END started working in resin before most of us knew what resin was. Big ups to END, godfather of "designer" resin toys!
